Our friendly neighbor, Spiderman, once reminded us that with "great power comes great responsibility." But of course, we are not born superheroes with intact moral values and supernatural strength against temptation. There are times when we slip to a fault while we are consumed by malice and mischief. With its overwhelming potential and wireless ability, an innocent mobile kit can turn into a little devil. We are only human, a sinner or a saint. But we have to admit that technology do possess too much control and power that we are sometimes pushed to notoriety.

The advertising industry feeds on our curiosty and constant clamor for thrill and technology. With their visuals, we are driven to believe that we are in dire need of a mobile phone to transcend the future. Maybe, but not all the time! Have you ever considered the personal risk of having one? For one, my wife became too obssessive of my whereabouts. Then, my teenage girl started dating freaks over unsecured mobile chatting. To make it worse, even my boy flunked math because of mobile addiction to playing and constant text messaging. In the end, the whole family's becoming distant and detached from personal communication, love, and comfort.

Even the financial risks and perils of having a phone is no match to possible electronic crimes. If you're heard of bluejacking, well, that's just a petty transgression. But wait 'til you learn about bluesnarfing. It's another form of identity theft wherein your data code and phonebook information are stolen through bluetooth access. Even the rich and famous can be a victim. Everyone has a proper claim to privacy. Paris Hilton's T-Mobile Sidekick was hacked, and the result? Celebrity numbers were posted on the net and vulgarity proliferated in numerous photos. Kidnappers, bank robbers, and even low-profile sinisters use this technology for their devious tricks. How well are we protected with wireless technology?

One of the drawbacks of relying too much on a mobile phone is that we sometimes compromise our privacy. Every slip or lapse in judgment may put our reputation at risk. While camera and video playback features do capture life, it also peeps and pries into our most disgraceful moments. One click and life may be over. Your photos and even taped conversations will be on the internet, thanks to the bluetooth and the wireless technology.

I've been getting too much of Paris Hilton on the cover. But the sleaziest headline of all is her T-Mobile scam. Amateur porn and celebrity numbers, who won't feast on that? The hotel heiress is always craving for the photo-ops and media exposure, so she got one. However, I'd say that I'm on her side when she says that there's been a breach of security on her T- Mobile Sidekick. It sends a red signal to the mobile phone industry and its consumers.

I can still draw a mental picture of Paris Hilton on the glamorous red carpet while endorsing a T-Mobile Sidekick. It was great for the cameras to capture her folly. Perhaps, she didn't really expect that this fancy piece of mobile apparel will make too much impact on her celebrity life. So why is she hacked? Paris is fun, she loves the limelight and she deserves one but also because her data and contacts are on a server which is much easier to manipulate even if you don't have the password. What the hell was T-Mobile thinking with such risk?

Many of us are in search for a real Cinderella, hoping that one day she'll leave a seductive clue or a shoe so we can find her in a fairytale of romance. You may not admit it, but there's a Prince Charming or Knight in Shining Armor deep in all of us. But where do we find real love? The internet, cafes, bars, or just right down in your pocket with a mobile phone?

If men used to serenade ladies by the window or write them love poems and letters, now we do it in style. Using a mobile phone is a shortcut to whirlwind of romance or a grand love affair in the making. You can always find a way to connect and respond anywhere, anytime. It's also a good way to know people better. Every text message and call reveals a character we'll either rebuff or admire. You'll soon find out if she's a real Cinderella or an evil Stepmother in disguise of a lady!

I've always feared the day when the girl of my dreams will step right in and reject me face to face. So to avoid the embarrassment, we have to test the waters before we make any stupid moves. We use mobile phones to see if they'll respond to the glib of our tongues. If she's snubbing your calls and messages, maybe it's time to stop being delusional. Chances are, she doesn't really like you at all. But if she's playing it coy yet flirt, then it's time to step up the game. Funny how mobile phones can solve matters of the polygamous heart.

They say that the best gifts are found in small packages. Perhaps, this is a popular theme for all evolving technologies of our time. The clincher is too keep it small but real with all the stored value of amazing discoveries. In a handful, you're able to transcend barriers with wireless transition and communication. Those are the benefits of having a mobile phone. But what are the blunders? I could give you five examples. One, my sister caught his man cheating on him through a call and text message. Two, George, my teenage cousin, was accused of cheating the exam after his cell phone rang inside the class. Three, Tina's explicit videos are everywhere. The blue tooth gossip we call it. Four, my wife became too possessive. And five, have you heard of the woman arrested for talking too loud while using her phone?

Don't get too carried away with this crap and don't leave your values off the sheet. What are the common etiquettes we should observe in using a mobile phone? First, look at the driveway. Avoid road accidents and take advantage of a hands-free feature while driving. Second, keep the conversation to yourself, tone down your voice when answering a call (especially in you plan on engaging in phone sex). Third, be civilized. You're not Rosie O' Donnell, so always use a pleasant tone or voice. Fourth, rid off sordid details on your phone before your wife checks on it. Don't get caught. And lastly, in enclosed space, don't be stupid enough to disrupt a class or a meeting. Keep it on silent or vibrate mode to alarm you with its updates. These are simple but practical reminders to brush on your manners.

We've always been mesmerized by flashy ads of mobile phone kits. For a billion-dollar industry, we see the likes of Maria Sharapova endorsing it with fiery passion like playing tennis. Like a herd of hypnotized consumers, they speak and we heed.
I can't condemn the overwhelming fascination. It's a must-have in this conscious trendy world, plus I'd say that it has considerable benefits in improving life and communication. But with so much freedom and unlimited access, I won't be astonished by its breach to privacy. If the internet has leaks, cellular kits are not excused!
By now, we may have already heard about the tale of a wife, pinning his husband down through texts, sound recordings, or the pornographic sexcapades. There's nothing new, and I think that's dire stupid to even get caught. But have you heard of that suspicious mobile call that caused stir in the Philippine government? In a taped conversation, the president was a suspect to an alleged conspiracy in an election fraud. Now that's disturbing to be an utter joke and poke to politics after the Monica Lewinsky controversy.
Whether you care or not about politics or who won the polls, it only reveals one thing: that with so much freedom, there's breach in control and responsibility. I, for one, would want my privacy and rights to be respected and protected. And I think as a cell phone user, the industry should also ensure safety and discretion as part of their revolving features.

We all know how important batteries are to our mobile phones. It doesn't matter if our phone is equipped with the latest Bluetooth technology or cool MP3 applications. It won't matter if our phones have defective batteries. With the prevalence of fake and unfit batteries in today's market, it is best to keep our original phone battery healthy and sound. It is written on our phone manuals, only we are often too excited to use our phones to bother reading the manuals. As such, there are several simple steps to ensure battery health.
Breaking new batteries in is important. The trick to conditioning new batteries is the use of the charge-drain-recharge method up to for times. This conditions your battery and prepares it for more activities. Even if the the phone automatically stops charging when it's full, unplug it from the charger. Leaving it on can potentially damage the battery. It is also important to remember to fully drain batteries before charging. Irregular charging is the leading cause of battery damage. Keep batteries in dark and cool places when if in use. This does not mean the fridge. A drawer or cabinet away from light and heat exposure will do the trick. Keep in mind not to put your battery out of use for long duration of time. There is a possibility that it may self-discharge; also, keeping batteries dormant can cause its cells to deteriorate.

Just like the modern digital computer, cellphones encounter signal or reception problems at times. That is why, we encounter some sorts of interruption during communication because of low reception or signal coverage. A friend of mine told about this stuff called cellphone antenna that promises continued connection even without amplification. Sounds great, but I just can't imagine its inconvenience. The first thing that entered my mind when I heard about this modern antenna is that big stuff which will be installed to my phone.
I might have misinterpreted my friend that this antenna shall be attached directly to the phone. What is great about this cellphone antenna is its great ability to provide signal connection because it is attached to an object that is stationary whether in the workplace, school, or home. This antenna has a gain of about 13 dBi and it can be place in different directions thus providing uninterrupted connection. It will protected from the UV rays of the powerful sun and other harsh weather conditions because it is covered with polycarbonate radome that is stabilized with UV. I guess I would to get hold of this antenna also because there are times that I cannot easily access my contacts at home due to some connection problems.

Okay, we have heard rumors and news about high-tech communication technologies being a hazard to our health. Whether those are myths or facts, it is nonetheless important to be wary of these precautions because these advanced gadgets are practically our constant companions every place we go. Heck, even in my sleep, my mobile phone is resting close to me.
Since there is one story going around that cellular phones are causing brain cancer, several groups have devised ways on how to regulate or prevent unwarranted circumstances. One of these is to check for emission levels. According to cellular network authorities, mobile phones made available and being sold to the public must contain visibly information on radio frequency emission. However, the information is normally indicated inside the phone box so buyers who are still scouting for an affordable item might have to make some inconvenient request to the seller to check first before the purchase. Of course, who in their right mind would want to open the box if the phone is yet unpaid for? The store reminder "Broken items are considered sold" can be applied similarly in this case. With the emission level noted within the box, people have no way of knowing whether the phone is environment-friendly and health-friendly as well, unless cellular companies have been given a new provision. Otherwise, consumers can just distract themselves with their futuristic phones without any regard for possible impact to health.

Yes, too much of our relief, the connection between using a cellphone and cellular brain damage has been dismissed by expert medical scientists. But there are no stopping the perpetuation of the rumors that prolonged exposure to cellular waves could potentially lead to cancer. Isn't this a funny way of death, then, it were true indeed - dying one phone call short?
There were studies conducted about the possibility that the prolonged exposure to cellular waves may very well be one of the main causes of being afflicted with cellular brain damage, but this rumour has been dismissed by experts in the field of medical science. The current studies being done go one step ahead by carrying this for an argument: it could not only cause cellular brain damage, but may very well cause cancer in general! Too much of our further relief, this, too, has been dismissed by medical scientists, and I presently have one thing in mind - could there be another rumour that cellphones may very well be the main cause of the perpetuation of the dreaded AIDS virus?!
I just don't know how paranoid people could get these days, you know! But facts state that more people die by improper mobile phone use than they do by cancer due to the prolonged exposure to cellular waves. I think an answer to this, if the facts above aren't enough to convince you, would be maintaining a healthy lifestyle so that you'd not only assure yourself of a long life in general, but a few more phone calls from death!

Cell phones are becoming more indispensable nowadays. In fact, they have risen as one of the backbones of modern communication services. These devices were initially developed for making and receiving calls. Now, they are designed for multiple functions.
Cellular phones can be used for e-mail, web surfing, games, and other business, or entertainment purposes. Since these devices serve a major function, proper care must be observed in order to make them last longer. There are several ways you can do in order to properly maintain your cell phone.
First, protect and cover the device from dust since this dirt is one of the causes of cell phone damage. Second, as much as possible, make use of original chargers that match your device's model for proper charging. Third, only recharge your cellular phone when it is necessary. Recharging the device frequently can damage the battery. Fourth, avoid downloading files from unknown websites and if you are using Symbian OS, install your cell phone with an anti-virus.

No one would dispute that communication devices such as cellular phones and WiFi wireless access are indispensable tools. But, did you know ever know that using them may give rise to certain health risks? True enough, but it is quite difficult to get rid of these communication tools.
Microwave radiations coming from cellular use are oftentimes the causes of cancer and other illnesses like brain tumors, eye damage, and leukemia. We may not be affected by now, but prolonged exposure to these microwave radiations may permanently affect us particularly our bodies in the long run. These microwave radiations are produced by cellular phones antennas.
So, how do we protect ourselves and our families from these potentially harmful radiations? Health experts say we can get rid of these radiations by obstructing the origin of damaging emf. One such way is the use of celluSAFE which is a peculiar product the envelopes mobile phones antennas. It brings the emission of radiation to other directions away from the brain thereby protecting the tissue and lowering radiation by about 96.4%. Better yet, minimize cellphone use and you minimize the danger of radiation entering the body.

Don't you just hate it when you have to take an important call while you're driving? Driving while using or talking on your cellular phones, cause many vehicular accidents. But, when there's an emergency phone call or you really need to use your phones, don't you think that an "emergency" phone call is just too urgent to ditch?
Well, I guess if you always have to make calls anywhere and everywhere, no matter what you're doing, just get a hands-free earpiece or headsets. This stuff really works wonders. If you're live by phone calls, well here's the perfect cellphone accessory for you. The hands-free headset would enable you to talk over your cellphones while you're driving.
Another good thing about hands-free headsets is that they lessen your risk of cellphone radiation. In some states, it's also a law that you must use hands-free headsets in your cars. This law lessens the chance of vehicular accidents. You don't have to worry about wearing too much gadgets on your heads. You can choose from hands-free headset models. There's the ear bud that's just tucked inside your ears. There are ear pieces and minibooms. You can also use the regular wireless headphones and the much advanced Bluetooth earphones. So, take your pick and chat away in your good old cars.

Remember how old cellphones looked like? I can still imagine how my dad used to carry with him this big bulky suitcase where his cellphone was. It was covered in black leather as protection. The body was heavy. The handset was still connected to the body via a telephone coil. It was bigger and heavier than the telephones we use at home. It also has big, noticeable antennas. He used to carry it to work everyday. Poor dad.
Then came the analog cellphones who had four-line LED screens. It was the size of a wireless telephone at home but it was still a little bit heavy because of the weight of the big, black battery. This was quite a good switch from his old cellular phone. It was very convenient.
The advent of the modern cellphones came rapidly. This time it has LCD screens and you can send text messages via short messaging service. Then, the camera phones came. Everybody was addicted to taking pictures and uploading it on their computer. MP3 players were also incorporated in the mobile phone. Soon, we witness the convergence of personal digital assistants and handheld computers with mobile phone.
I can't imagine what the next thing in cellphones will be.

The technological advancements made in distance communication can be best described as quantum leaps during the last two centuries. Before the invention of electronic communication devices, humans relied on different inefficient methods of conveying messages through distance. The most ancient form of distant communication is perhaps shouting. A group of prehistoric hunters may have shouted at each other in a distance to coordinate their attacks on preys. Shouting was also used by ancient armies to send commands in battles. The chaos of battle, however, demanded more effective systems of communication. Semaphores or flag signaling was developed. Smoke signals, drum beating and reflected sun rays were also some of the other distant communication methods that were invented.
Cellular phone is one of the modern communication devices, along with WiFi Internet connection, that made mobile communication possible. The system is called cellular because it uses many base stations to relay signals and divide service area into multiple cells. The basic concept of cellular phone was developed in 1947. Researches recognized the potential of the crude mobile car phone during that time, which were commonly used by the police and military. The researchers realized that by using small cells, along with frequency reuse, the traffic capacity of mobile phones could be substantially increased. Nonetheless, the technology to do this was inexistent during that time.
Today cellular phones are already multi-media devices. Some cellular phones are multiple devices integrated into one. An average modern cellular phone is capable of sending short text messages, taking photographs, and connecting to the Internet.

Tough less prominent, mobile phone batteries are as important as the phone itself. The battery, which is an underrated accessory demands attention only when it starts to drain. Since it is hidden somewhere inside the phone, only a few users would notice its importance. Like in any other gadget, it is imporant to have batteries to make the phone function. Somehow, cellular phone users are starting to recognize the essentiality of a having a phone with a reliable battery. The phoes of today, which are usually packed with camera, music library, and other stuffs to require strong energy source. With a high quality battery, users are assured that they will be able to enjoy the features of their phones without the hassles caused by a drained battery.

Which country is really the text capital of the world? Before that, what's the basis of being the text capital of the world? Is it the volume or the usage? In 2004, the Germans claimed that they are the world's SMS champions claiming that they send 200 million messages a year. The Chinese, who are the world’s largest mobile subscriber market, reportedly sent 240 billion messages in 2003 alone. In the Philippines, they say that they remain as the world's texting capital due to the magnitude of the volume of SMS the country sends everyday. Telecom executives estimate that about 200,000 text messages are sent daily in the Philippines where operators charge an average of one peso for each SMS. Does it really matter if a country is the text capital of the world? What does a country get if it's the text capital of the world. Texting is a necessity for us, we should not forget it's essence. If I were the operators, I won't charge anything for a text message. After all, everybody wants to be the text capital of the world, why not let texting be for free? What do you think?

As the number of mobile phone users multiplies, so are the features that add up life to cellular phones. Recent developments have seen changes in mobile phones and manufacturers are keener on making a step further. With the competitive nature of the cellular phone industry, it is evident that new models are to be expected as the day goes by.
Perhaps, one of the best additions to cell phones is music. Cool ring tones are very aesthetic and provide a different type of enjoyment among users. With technology being incorporated, several phones are able to compose their own songs. Who needs a piano or a guitar when a mobile phone can do everything in a flash. With these expansions, so many things are about to come up including those that only the mind can conceive.
