I don't know if the world's on a lunatic spin already, but I heard this news about a woman who's arrested for cursing and talking too loud on her cell phone. I don't know how to deal with this shit! If it's Paris Hilton, it might be easier and cheesier. I'd definitely dismiss it as media hype or smear photo op for Paris' ego and notoriety. Yes, it's silly news but it's also alarming!
Just so you'd know it's true and not just another prank, I'll give you the names of involved characters. The woman is Sakinah Aaron and the police officer was from Washington DC. I can't pinpoint who the real villain is but it doesn't really matter. What matters are the obtrusive steps to privacy and the lack of moral judgment incurred by the use of these technologies.
I could still take the proliferation of explicit
sex videos and photos through cellphones and the internet. There's a raging pervert everywhere, and everytime, we muse in devouring their vicious tactics. But in simple sense of propriety and the so- called etiquette, how could we dismiss manners with such attacks.
If talking on the phone disrupts
peace and order, what else could possibly happen? Are we infiltrated by trivial misconduct? While there is freedom of speech, are we not also bound by discretion? Just like what Spiderman used to say, "with great power, comes great responsibility"
