Our friendly neighbor, Spiderman, once reminded us that with "great power comes great responsibility." But of course, we are not born superheroes with intact moral values and supernatural strength against temptation. There are times when we slip to a fault while we are consumed by malice and mischief. With its overwhelming potential and wireless ability, an innocent mobile kit can turn into a little devil. We are only human, a sinner or a saint. But we have to admit that technology do possess too much control and power that we are sometimes pushed to notoriety.

The advertising industry feeds on our curiosty and constant clamor for thrill and technology. With their visuals, we are driven to believe that we are in dire need of a mobile phone to transcend the future. Maybe, but not all the time! Have you ever considered the personal risk of having one? For one, my wife became too obssessive of my whereabouts. Then, my teenage girl started dating freaks over unsecured mobile chatting. To make it worse, even my boy flunked math because of mobile addiction to playing and constant text messaging. In the end, the whole family's becoming distant and detached from personal communication, love, and comfort.

Even the financial risks and perils of having a phone is no match to possible electronic crimes. If you're heard of bluejacking, well, that's just a petty transgression. But wait 'til you learn about bluesnarfing. It's another form of identity theft wherein your data code and phonebook information are stolen through bluetooth access. Even the rich and famous can be a victim. Everyone has a proper claim to privacy. Paris Hilton's T-Mobile Sidekick was hacked, and the result? Celebrity numbers were posted on the net and vulgarity proliferated in numerous photos. Kidnappers, bank robbers, and even low-profile sinisters use this technology for their devious tricks. How well are we protected with wireless technology?

One of the drawbacks of relying too much on a mobile phone is that we sometimes compromise our privacy. Every slip or lapse in judgment may put our reputation at risk. While camera and video playback features do capture life, it also peeps and pries into our most disgraceful moments. One click and life may be over. Your photos and even taped conversations will be on the internet, thanks to the bluetooth and the wireless technology.

I've been getting too much of Paris Hilton on the cover. But the sleaziest headline of all is her T-Mobile scam. Amateur porn and celebrity numbers, who won't feast on that? The hotel heiress is always craving for the photo-ops and media exposure, so she got one. However, I'd say that I'm on her side when she says that there's been a breach of security on her T- Mobile Sidekick. It sends a red signal to the mobile phone industry and its consumers.
Friday, May 4. 2007
I can still draw a mental picture of Paris Hilton on the glamorous red carpet while endorsing a T-Mobile Sidekick. It was great for the cameras to capture her folly. Perhaps, she didn't really expect that this fancy piece of mobile apparel will make too much impact on her celebrity life. So why is she hacked? Paris is fun, she loves the limelight and she deserves one but also because her data and contacts are on a server which is much easier to manipulate even if you don't have the password. What the hell was T-Mobile thinking with such risk?

Many of us are in search for a real Cinderella, hoping that one day she'll leave a seductive clue or a shoe so we can find her in a fairytale of romance. You may not admit it, but there's a Prince Charming or Knight in Shining Armor deep in all of us. But where do we find real love? The internet, cafes, bars, or just right down in your pocket with a mobile phone?

If men used to serenade ladies by the window or write them love poems and letters, now we do it in style. Using a mobile phone is a shortcut to whirlwind of romance or a grand love affair in the making. You can always find a way to connect and respond anywhere, anytime. It's also a good way to know people better. Every text message and call reveals a character we'll either rebuff or admire. You'll soon find out if she's a real Cinderella or an evil Stepmother in disguise of a lady!

I've always feared the day when the girl of my dreams will step right in and reject me face to face. So to avoid the embarrassment, we have to test the waters before we make any stupid moves. We use mobile phones to see if they'll respond to the glib of our tongues. If she's snubbing your calls and messages, maybe it's time to stop being delusional. Chances are, she doesn't really like you at all. But if she's playing it coy yet flirt, then it's time to step up the game. Funny how mobile phones can solve matters of the polygamous heart.

Every minute, every second, we may capture a special detail out of life. I'm always armed and ready not with a fragile digital camera but with Sony Ericsson K750i. Just slide the lens cover and click on the camera to capture memorable images. That's the beauty of having a mobile phone. Anytime, anywhere, it provides you with comfort and ease. All you need is to press the button and it heeds to your commands. I cannot imagine life without my phone buddy. I'll be lonely without it, so I thank my K750i for all the good times we've shared.

A father always dreams of having a son. After five years of eager anticipation, we were at last blessed with a boy. It was a sensitive pregnancy so I made sure that I attend to her needs. But once, I asked my wife for a holiday treat. I've been so good that I feel like I deserve even a weekend break. So I was playing golf when my K750i rang to alert me with an emergency. Her water bag broke and she was sent to the nearest hospital. Without hesitation, I rushed to the delivery room with nothing to capture the moment but my K750i. I took my boy's first picture and recorded his debut to our world. Good thing that it has superb image quality. I was also able to share and store using a PC management software. I made a photo album and added photo effects before I emailed them to my boy's proud granny in Colorado. Thank God I have my Sony Ericsson K750i at hand to capture the joyous memory having a son.

It took 5 hours of excruciating pain before my wife was able to deliver our baby boy. I was worried sick for a while but at least music helped ease my mind. If I haven't been listening to a built-in FM radio in my mobile phone, I would have gone nuts. I even thought I was having an anxiety attack, but my Sony K750i kept me calm with its downloaded games, graphics, and music tones. Sometimes, at situations like this, there's no need for panic. I was cranky for a while until I thought of calling my friends for help. With an organized calendar, phonebook, and easy features, life was made easier with my Sony Ericsson phone.

After the invasion of N91, here comes the new phone from the famous N series of Nokia, the N71 phone. Nokia's website describes this phone as a device for instant entertainment gratification. This new phone model has a sleek fold design that holds an integrated music and video player, a 2-mega pixel camera, an improved Internet browser, a large 2.4” color display, 3G connection speeds and loads of other features. If you live an active and spontaneous life, then Nokia N71 fits your lifestyle.
Thursday, April 26. 2007
What I like so much about N71 is that its integrated player lets me become a disc jockey by playing any digital music that I like anytime, whether from the likes of The Calling up to the highly phenomenal Black Eyed Peas. Today's hot-swap miniSD cards enable you to carry thousands of songs with you. You can listen to ripped CDs and manage it all on the go. You can just drag and drop the songs and transfers of your files from your compatible personal computer to your Nokia N71. Isn't it very simple? The N71 is made for music buffs like us who can't live without music.
Wednesday, April 25. 2007
You can also take advantage of its N71's other features. Its two mega pixel camera, digital zoom, and integrated flash allows you to capture your favorite moments in a photo or in a sharp digital video. After which you can enjoy watching these pictures and videos on its huge 2.4” high-quality display. Not only that, you can also edit them using its built-in editing software and share them with your friends through USB connectivity, Infrared, or Bluetooth technology. You can also go with online printing and storing services via fast 3G network. Its enhanced Internet browser and 3G speed allows you to easily check the latest news and happenings in the world in a flash. Suffice to say, N71 is power at hand.

Have you ever seen the girl of your dreams walking by the street. You clenched your fist, mustered the dopey courage, and chased her to finally ask for that number. You went up to her, she smiled at you, only, there's an icky food splinter in between her nice, white dentures. And you say, "Ewe, that's disgusting!" No, I haven't experience such humiliation but I almost had it for the Sony Ericsson W800i. Oh no, it's a shame!
Monday, April 23. 2007
It's walkman phone, a revolution of style and function from Sony Ericsson phone kits. It's built for easy listening that can even nix off your need for an iPod. It can store up to 150 songs or 10- 15 CD's, thanks to its 512 MB memory. It also has an FM radio station and it shuts off as easy when you have an incoming call. It catches life with 2-megapixel digital camera and video recording. But what's a high quality photo imagery if you can't share it? Don't worry, it has a Music Cable accessory, a wireless transition through Bluetooth and a USB connection to PC's where you can edit and upload images as well as tones. Do away with all these fun. It has an expandable memory and an easy store feature. Push the button and the genie will give you what you want.

What else can you ask for right? Sounds perfect to me. It has all the vital elements of a mobile phone that's sleek with style, slender with design, bulky with intense features, but tainted in orange?! Com' on! You're not expecting a kid to afford one and use it. How could you paint it orange?! It only ruined everything. You may have a very nifty phone with you, but how do you expect to be taken seriously with an orange tone?! I was heart broken for a while. There are lots of discreet colors to choose from. Why do Ericsson have to choose the color of a raging diva?! I love the W800i, only I can't put my reputation at stake as a man.

They say that the best gifts are found in small packages. Perhaps, this is a popular theme for all evolving technologies of our time. The clincher is too keep it small but real with all the stored value of amazing discoveries. In a handful, you're able to transcend barriers with wireless transition and communication. Those are the benefits of having a mobile phone. But what are the blunders? I could give you five examples. One, my sister caught his man cheating on him through a call and text message. Two, George, my teenage cousin, was accused of cheating the exam after his cell phone rang inside the class. Three, Tina's explicit videos are everywhere. The blue tooth gossip we call it. Four, my wife became too possessive. And five, have you heard of the woman arrested for talking too loud while using her phone?
Friday, April 20. 2007
Don't get too carried away with this crap and don't leave your values off the sheet. What are the common etiquettes we should observe in using a mobile phone? First, look at the driveway. Avoid road accidents and take advantage of a hands-free feature while driving. Second, keep the conversation to yourself, tone down your voice when answering a call (especially in you plan on engaging in phone sex). Third, be civilized. You're not Rosie O' Donnell, so always use a pleasant tone or voice. Fourth, rid off sordid details on your phone before your wife checks on it. Don't get caught. And lastly, in enclosed space, don't be stupid enough to disrupt a class or a meeting. Keep it on silent or vibrate mode to alarm you with its updates. These are simple but practical reminders to brush on your manners.

The sleek steel finish will make you want to go "Wooooh"! I know, at first glance, it will be love at first sight. But don't be fooled because beauty is only skin deep for Nokia 6170.
It has all the amazing technology BUT an expandable memory. It will be the flop for this Nokia flip. It boasts of downloadable features like MP3, wallpaper, and images. Oh yeah, that's enticing! Where will we store it? It won't even fit in the phone's limited memory when there's no room for expansion.
Bluetooth? With a futuristic steel design how could you still get stuck with an Infrared. Com' on, why did you not install a bluetooth in the system?! It's the missing link of evolution. The only unique beauty in it is the double vision with an outside mini LCD display. Now, I don't know much what it does to you except for a perk in seeing more but I like it. The keys are also soft to touch and the image resolution is good. It's a fine piece actually that missed on little but important specifications.
I feel sorry for the Nokia 6170. It's beauty without brains. So next time, before you get all flashy with sales pitch, look for the minor details that will make you want to change your mind. After all, beauty isn't all there is.

Is your cell phone a friend or a foe? Now, I don't want to stir any controversy to an already clogged up issue whether technology is evil or not. But when I bought my phone, I had to answer that question in mind. Cell phone manufacturers are too wary of each other that they seem to move in a single flow. Basically, they all have the same features but different ads, colors, and designs. So it's really hard to seal the deal!
At first glance, I already knew that my phone's meant for me. I fell in love at first sight, and much more when I touched it. I knew that the style soothes my character (silent but deadly!) and I like the simple glam. The love of my life? A Sony Ericsson kit.
I have a thing for Sony Ericsson phones. I think that they give justice to image and photos and unlike Nokia, it not too flashy or gaudy. I like mine in quiet elegance.
On the other hand, my sister's much obsessed with Nokia Phones. She proclaims it as more user-friendly and a leader when it comes to design. We would end up arguing, but I'd always stick it out with my Sony and she'll always choose her Nokia.
Even with splitting views, we agreed on one thing. When it comes to flip tops, nothing beats Samsung. They're the flip top gods. They know every form and style to match that eloquent beauty. I'd suggest that whatever brand you choose, always ask yourself if it's a friend or a foe. If you want it to be simple and user-friendly, go for Nokia. But if you want a good image and LCD screen, I'd suggest Sony Ericsson.
